Gurubhai (Joe Rich)

Gurubhai is a master of Kundalini Yoga and Tantric Numerology. He trained personally for several years with Yogi Bhajan, the master teacher who brought Kundalini Yoga from India to the United States over fifty years ago. In the decades since, Gurubhai has borne the wisdom of this ancient and authentic lineage, reverently called the “Golden Chain” of teachers. For him, the teachings truly begin when one steps off the mat and into the world. Gurubhai focuses on “applied consciousness” by bringing universal spiritual teachings to the realms of relationship, career, communication, health, food and world events. He derives joy by helping people move beyond their limiting subconscious response patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior, into a conscious life that serves both the individual and the world at-large. He will personally lead the Yoga of Relationship and Intuition Satsangs, and will throughout the retreat offer unique perspectives that frame discussion topics through lens of yogic philosophy.

Applied understanding of these four Sanskrit words: agni, ama, dosha, dhatu, can radically change your personal health. The Yoga of Relationship

Led by Gurubhai

Tuesday

May 5th

3:00 - 5:00pm

Challenge your mainstream notions of relationship by applying a yogic lens. What is the point of relationship? What role does the masculine play? The feminine? How can the experience of frustrating personality friction be transmuted into polarity that drives personal growth and expansion? In the West, Yoga as a practice has been largely reduced to strength and stretching exercises that at best aim to help one “de-stress”. In its origin, however, the word Yoga means “union with the divine.” True yoga, practiced in relationship to others, provides a pathway to authentic communication, purpose, and connection, which in turn leads to mutual upliftment and fulfillment.

Climate & Ecology - From Crisis to Consciousness

Led by Patrick Hentschel

Thursday

May 7th

3:00 - 5:00pm

We will discuss the harsh reality of our planet’s climate and ecology crises, the system of causes, and their connections to our personal health and wellbeing. As above so below – we will explore how climate change as a macrocosmic crisis reflects the microcosmic dynamics of  personal health and empowerment. As the ancient wisdom has always held, what is ‘good’ for ecological vitality is also what supports the sustainability of our physical and mental health.

Testimonials

I loved how this day touched and integrated physical, mental and emotional balance starting with introductions and intention and moving into asana, meditation, digestion, Kirtan and deeper meditation.

I would say the most impactful was the knowledge of the cooking class. Food is medicine.  The hike was a great reminder to take the time to breath and be present, connecting with nature. Helped me reset and focus again.

Thank you for introducing new techniques of Ayurvedic practices that we could actually feel, enjoy and use as habitual disciplines in our lives.  So much in so little time!
